The objectives of this project are to examine and identify the driving factors behind innovation, to involve and exploit all potential stakeholders in society and to leverage good practice and new measures into national and regional innovation policies.
The activities include identification of all potential innovators in society from schoolchildren to advanced research laboratory and from the curious human to front runners among innovative enterprises. All levels of innovators will be brought together and public-private innovation partnerships will be promoted.
The aim is to facilitate exploration of experiences and attitudes towards creativity, promote new constellations of collaboration and enhance inventiveness within and across business sectors, scientific fields, education, public sectors and virtual communities.
The project activities will take place during four regional Innovation Weeks and Regional Innovation Workshops in The Oeresund region (Copenhagen), The Baltic region (Riga), Central Europe (Berlin) and Southern Europe (Milan) and a final concluding Working Conference on Innovation at European level taking place in Berlin.
The regional INNOVATION CIRCUS activities will take place in an arena functioning as a market place where all participants meet. The idea is to create an encouraging environment that urge creativity and allows funny ideas and crazy constellations in order to unveil all the innovative power of the participants and new initiatives and methodologies to be born.
The expected results of the project include an outline of national and regional innovation initiatives pointing out perspectives for new innovation measurements and policies.
The project will result in a written concept for identifying the driving factors behind innovation. It will be made public together with a new web-page. Thus the results and new tools for enhancing innovation will be publicly disseminated and made exploitable for all regions of Europe.
The project will via its holistic approach and new methods contribute to integrating and structuring the European Research Area by challenging the European society into changing habits, and by providing new tools to exploit Europe’s full potentials to innovate and compete in a global knowledge society.
The regional events will take place in September-December 2007 and the final conference will be held in April 2008.
